About Woodminster Summer Musicals

Producers Associates, Inc. is the nonprofit organization that has, for 50 years, presented the Woodminster Summer Musicals in Joaquin Miller Park.  The organization is managed by the corporate officers of Producers Associates with the support of a dedicated Board of Directors.

 

 

Three musicals are presented each summer, one each in July, August, and September.  Each production has 7 performances plus a final dress rehearsal that is open to the public.  Over the course of the summer, 22-25,000 ticket holders pass through the Woodminster gates to see the performances.

 

 

Each musical is accompanied by a live professional orchestra, members of Musicians Local #6.  Each cast includes about 8 members of Actors’ Equity Association, along with dozens of talented local performers.  Auditions are very competitive and the rehearsal process is intense.

 

 

Woodminster Amphitheater is a large historic outdoor amphitheater, a WPA construction surrounded by a redwood forest in Joaquin Miller Park.  A picnic before the show is an essential part of the Woodminster experience for many long time season ticket holders, and makes the experience extra fun for first time audience members.
