Please get to the Joaquin Miller Community Center EARLY for dance auditions. We want everyone to allocate plenty of time to register, warm up and learn the choreography.

 

Please bring your headshot and resume and be prepared with character heels, ballet or jazz shoes, and tap shoes for the dance audition. Female dancers interested in An American in Paris, please bring pointe shoes.

 

No appointments necessary.

We will have 8 performing contracts for members of Actors Equity and we do offer Equity Candidacy Points. There is a stipend for performers.

 

No video submissions please.

 

Please note: We need well trained dancers for An American in Paris and On Your Feet!. Strong male and female ballet trained dancers for American in Paris, especially en pointe and tap. We are looking for pop singers and Latin dancers to audition for On Your Feet!. Tap dancers needed for Something Rotten. Check the "What to Prepare" tab for more specifics.

 

We welcome and encourage people from all ethnic backgrounds to audition and are committed to non-traditional casting.

    Opening: 7/10/20

    Closing: 7/19/20

    Music and Lyrics by Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Book by Craig Lucas. Directed by Joel Schlader, Choreographed by Amanda Marquez, and Music Direction by Nicolas Perez. We are seeking actors of Latino heritage with a strong pop voice and a background in Latin dancing for On Your Feet!.

     

    PRODUCTION DATES

    Opening: 8/7/20

    Closing: 8/16/20

    Music & Lyrics by Wayne & Karey Kirkpatrick and Book by Karey Kirkpatrick & John O'Farrell. Directed by Joel Schlader, Choreographed by Sarah Pon and Blake Hennessy-York, and Music Direction by Mark Dietrich. We are seeking good character actors strong in singing and moving and also strong musical theater and tap dancers for Something Rotten.

    Opening: 9/4/20

    Closing: 9/13/20

    Thursday and Sunday performances at 7pm, Friday and Saturday performances at 8pm.

  • what to prepare

    Please arrive early to the auditions to allow yourself plenty of time to check in and get settled. Prepare 16 bars from two songs, the first which shows off your legit vocal range and the second which shows off your personality. We plan to only hear the first song, but please prepare both. Bring your music clearly marked and secured in a loose leaf binder.

     

    If you want to be considered for An American in Paris, On Your Feet, and Something Rotten you must attend the dance audition so we can see how you move. Please come prepared with character heels, jazz, and tap shoes for all three shows. Female dancers who wish to be considered for An American In Paris, please bring your pointe shoes and be prepared to dance en pointe.
