Please note that no Woodminster tickets will be on sale to the general public until February 2019, after the season ticket renewal deadline has passed.  If you had season tickets in 2018, you will be given an opportunity to renew in the winter.

 

You can, however, purchase gift certificates now that can be redeemed in February or later for tickets.  To purchase gift certificates, please email Harriet or call her at 510-339-0241.

  • Season tickets and flex passes

    Season Tickets and Flex Passes for 2019 will be available for purchase from February 1 until the first show closes.

     

    A season ticket gets you admission to all three shows, gives you priority in ticket purchasing, and saves you about 15% over the price of the same tickets bought separately.  Season tickets range in price from $82.73 to $177.08, depending on where in the amphitheater you wish to sit.

     

    Flex passes cost $132, and are season tickets you don't reserve in advance.  A  flex pass gets you admission to all three shows, and you can claim the best available seat when you redeem the pass after June 1.

  • senior discount 62+

    Audience members who are 62 or older get a $2 discount on regular tickets. This does not apply to season tickets or already discounted tickets of any kind.

     

    Please specify when you purchase your tickets that they will be used by seniors.

  • Kids Come Free

    • 16 and younger

    • Available only at the Woodminster box office the night of the performance. For advance reservations for children, please look at our K75 discount.

    • 1 free ticket per full price adult or 1 free ticket for 2 group rate or "Oaklander opening night" tickets

    • Not available on final dress rehearsals or combined with any other discount or promo

     

    Since 1989, Woodminster Summer Musicals has offered free tickets to children and teens 16 and younger who are accompanying paying adults to any performance. These tickets are not reserved in advance and you should present your adult ticket (and your child) at the box office after 5:30 pm on the night of the performance and you will receive a free child's ticket as close to your adult ticket as possible. To guarantee that your tickets will be together, purchase your adult ticket on the night of the performance along with your child's.

     

    One free child's ticket will be issued for each adult ticket. If the adult tickets were purchased with a group rate or other half price program, a free child's ticket will be issued per TWO adult tickets. No Kids Come Free tickets on $20 final dress rehearsals.

     

    If it's important to you to reserve tickets in advance so you have dual advantage of better seats and everyone sitting together, we now offer a new kids' tickets discount program, K75.  See details in next tab.

    Our Kids Come Free program is a great deal for families, but doesn't allow you to reserve the children's tickets in advance. For those of you who want to lock down seats for your whole party days, weeks, or months before the performance, we now offer K75.

     

    K75 tickets can be purchased at the same time as your adult tickets (except season ticket renewals), even months before the performance. This way, everyone sits together and you get the best seats at the time you place the order instead of the night of the performance. Also, while Kids Come Free tickets are limited to one kid per one adult, K75 tickets let you get the discount for up to 5 kids for each adult in your party.

     

    K75 tickets lets you extend your family party to include your kids' best buddies, or arrange a birthday party outing, or get any small group of children or young teens together for a fun evening at the amphitheater.

     

    K75 Tickets (adjusted to include $2.50 city facility fee) are:

  • Millennials half price tickets

    Between the ages of 17 and 30? Just show up at the box office before any performance, present your ID to verify your age, and you may purchase tickets in any section for half price.

     

    Bring a date or get a big group together for a distinctly Oakland experience.  Come early for a hike along Joaquin Miller Park's miles of rustic forest trails. Find some of the monuments erected by Joaquin Miller himself, soak up the sunshine in hillside meadows, and enjoy redwood-filtered views of the city and bay.  Bring a picnic and a bottle of wine to enjoy before or during the show.

     

    Half price tickets (adjusted to include $2.50 city facility fee) are:

  • groups of 25+ half price

    Groups of 25 or more can purchase half-price tickets for any Thursday, Friday, or Sunday performance. (No Saturdays.)

     

    Special group discounts provide an excellent way for organizations to raise funds or just enjoy an evening together. Your organization can purchase tickets at half price and sell them at face value, or pass the savings along to your members. Group tickets must be purchased in advance, not at the door the night of performance.

    If you want your tickets mailed to you, please include a $3 handling fee. You may also purchase group tickets for summer shows in person at the lower box office 11am-4pm weekdays after June 1, and 11am-4pm every day after July 1.

     

    Reserve picnic tables inside the amphitheater for your group.  Call or email about availability after February 1.

    Restrictions:  A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount is due when tickets are reserved. Full payment is due 30 days before the performance, no exceptions made. We do not accept credit card payments for half-price tickets. You may add additional tickets at the half-price rate up until the day before the performance. Members of your group may bring children to attend free, but two half-price tickets must be used for each free child’s ticket. Free children’s tickets and group-rate tickets added after the original order will not be adjacent to the group.  If you wish to reserve steeply discounted kids' tickets (K75) in advance to be with your group of 25+ adults, please call the box office. There are no additional discounts on half-price tickets for seniors.

  • Mini-groups of 12+ 15% off

    Groups of 12 or more may purchase tickets for about 15% off for any performance, about the same discount as for season tickets, without the 3-show commitment. This discount is designed for the perfect evening out for a small office or a large family, or any group that isn’t quite big enough to qualify for the half price 25+ group discount.

     

    New K75 program (about 75% off tickets for kids 16 and younger) can be combined with this program, but you must order at least 12 adult tickets.

     

    Alternatively, mini-group tickets do qualify for Kids Come Free companion tickets for children and teens 16 and younger, but the free tickets cannot be reserved in advance and will not be with the original group.

Mini-group tickets do qualify for Kids Come Free companion tickets for children and teens 16 and younger, but restrictions apply.  Rain Policy:  If Producers Associates, Inc. cancels a performance, your tickets will be honored for same value tickets at a subsequent performance of the same show.   If we perform for an hour or more, it will be considered a full performance and no credit will be given for another performance.  (This is an industry standard.)

  • Oaklanders' Opening night special

    Welcome, Oaklanders!

    Since 1967, Woodminster Summer Musicals has been a tradition in Oakland's Joaquin Miller Park. Our shows are performed at Woodminster Amphitheater, a historic city venue that overlooks Oakland and the bay. The beautiful, woodsy, outdoor setting is a magical place for American Musical Theater, and we draw large crowds from all over the bay area and beyond.

     

    We'd like to extend a special welcome to our Oakland neighbors, and invite you to come to any opening night for about half-price. Just use the code (MyCity) when you order tickets online, by phone at 510-531-9597, or in person at the box office. However you purchase your tickets, you'll pick them up in person on opening night, and we'll ask for identification with an Oakland address.

     

    In 2019, opening nights are July 5 (Newsies), August 2 (Billy Elliot), and August 30 (Into the Woods).

     

    Half price tickets (adjusted to include $2.50 city facility fee) are:

    If you want to bring children or teens, you may receive ONE free ticket for anyone 16 or younger for each TWO half-price tickets you purchase for any opening night. Kids Come Free tickets cannot be released until the night of the performance. If you wish to use the half-price code (MyCity) and bring kids for free, and be guaranteed to sit together:

    Purchase your tickets at the upper box office between 5:30 and 8:00 pm on the night of the performance. Be sure to say "MyCity," and ask for Kids Come Free seats as well. Woodminster Amphitheater is very large, and we always have tickets available on opening night. The earlier you get there, the better your seats.

     

    OR

     

    If you want to bring children or teens and want to reserve all your tickets ahead of time,  you can reserve your adult tickets for half price with the MyCity code, and reserve your kids tickets (up to 16 yrs old) for about 75% off with our K75 program. After June 1, call our box office at 510-531-9597 between 11 a.m. and 4 pm, or come to the lower box office during those hours. Tell our friendly staff person that you wish to use the code MyCity and also get K75 tickets. Pay for the seats, and we will hold your tickets at Will Call for pick-up the night of the performance (if you called) or release them with an ID if you came in person.

     

    Our system does not allow us to exchange tickets already purchased.
