IN THE HEIGHTS
Before there was Hamilton, there was In the Heights. The brilliance of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new vision of American Musical Theater is spectacularly realized in both shows, in all its blow-the-top-off-expectations exuberance. Like Hamilton, In the Heights’ style is ostensibly hip hop, but characters sing and dance to a wide variety of musical styles and moods. Energetic and infectious, this is something completely different for the Woodminster stage.
In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. In the Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.

**Saturday's 9/8 Performance is SOLD OUT
Please note that this show will be drawing very large crowds. If you saw Mamma Mia! last year, you know what we're talking about. We have implemented several improvements at our box office and front gate that should speed entrance to the amphitheater, but there will probably be some lines at the gate in the last half hour before the show. And we can't do anything about the parking lots, so we advise an early arrival, particularly if you want a parking space inside the park.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the amphitheater.
