If you do not want to reserve a table inside the amphitheater, there are also many picnic tables in Joaquin Miller Park along the approach to the amphitheater and around the parking lots, which may be used for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Many patrons also enjoy a picnic dinner on the stone benches along the cascades behind the amphitheater and you are welcome to eat or drink anything you like in your seats in the amphitheater.
