COVID Safety Policies as of June 1, 2021

COVID safety requirements and recommendations are imposed by various government agencies: The CDC, the State of California, the Alameda County Health Department and the City of Oakland. The requirements change frequently. The rules from the various agencies often contradict each other. Oakland and Alameda County requirements take precedence over State and Federal requirements. Oakland and Alameda County can and will close the theater if our safety policies and practices are not adequate. The State and Federal government won’t do that. As new requirements are released, we will adjust our policies and inform our patrons of the latest revisions. Please keep in mind that the safety requirements you experience when you arrive at the theater may be different than the ones you read when you purchased your tickets. Check our website before arriving at the theater for updated policies.

·       Audience face masks are mandatory while entering, exiting or moving about the theater. While you are sitting in your seat, you may remove your mask. However, as the sun sets and the fog rolls in, you may enjoy the added warmth of wearing a mask.

·       Tickets must be purchased in advance. The box office will not be open when you arrive for the performance.

·       We will assign all seats to maintain social distancing. You can choose your section, and therefore your ticket price, but you cannot choose individual seats. We will assign seats in the order that the tickets are purchased. To get the best seats, purchase early.

·       If you are a subscriber, you will not be able to sit in your regular seats this summer. No exceptions. Subscribers will return to their regular seats for the 2022 season.

·       You must sit in the seats assigned to your party. You cannot move to other seats.

·       Many seats in the theater will be taped off. Do not remove the tape. Do not sit in taped off seats.

·       If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID, do not come to the theater.

·  There are no refunds or exchanges for tickets.

At the end of the performance, we will stagger the exit from the theater to prevent crowded conditions in the aisles and walkways. Please follow the directions you hear over the PA system.

This page will be updated frequently.
