The Gift of a Lifetime –

Audrey Lasson (Laird)
June 11, 1926 - March 29, 2019 

…which would force the theater to shut down for the season. And, in part, because of her generous support, Woodminster will be able to continue producing summer musical theater for seasons to come.   

Audrey Lasson did not tell us ahead of time about this gift, so we can only surmise that she loved coming to the theater, seeing shows, and creating memories with her family. She must have felt, like so many do, that the theater had a special place in her heart, enough so that she wanted to give back to Woodminster. She obviously wanted to have a part in keeping the theater alive and thriving, even after she was gone.

We thank Audrey for her generous gift. She will never know how timely and valuable her contribution was to become. It was a wonderful gesture, coming at a most critical time for the theater during the COVID pandemic, and is appreciated so much more than she could ever have imagined.   

Endowments are essential for the success of any large non-profit arts organization’s artistic mission. Woodminster is no exception. We want to continue producing quality Broadway shows for our many patrons for years to come, and for this, we depend on and need your help. We have appreciated your support of Woodminster Summer Musicals through the years.  

What is planned or legacy giving? We call it the gift of a lifetime. Because it does so much for so many, including the giver. It allows donors to provide generous future gifts from their estate, to support Woodminster’s core mission without disturbing one’s financial situation during their lifetime. And it may provide a tax benefit also.
